Comprehensive assessments: You should take a comprehensive exam which simulates Step 1 in content and structure. The results of that exam will indicate whether you are ready to take the exam.

The most commonly used is provided by the national board of Medical Examiners (NBME). The NBME along with the Federation of State Medical Boards collectively administer USMLE Step 1. NBME provides several web-based comprehensive exams. According to their webpage, the exams are not intended to 'predict' your performance on Step 1, but most students use them for just that.
